Happy 8th Birthday Boston

Dear Boston,

Happy 8th Birthday!!  I'm writing this letter to you a little over a month after your birthday.  Whoops!  We've been busy though!  You were baptized a few days after your birthday and it was a really special day.  Your baptism was at noon, but it ran a little late, because of other wards. :)  We started in the Sacrament room and many people came!
Bonkie,
Aunt Jen's entire family
The Stoyans
The Harris'
Sister Fry
Sister Bibe
Tio Brett and his girls
Tio Beau and Tia Brittney
Nana and Papa
Tia Arielle's entire family
Bishop Walker
Sister Rheta Clark
Sister Kleinman and Dallin
Sister Hayes
And probably some others I've forgotten!

Aunt Jen led the music (We sang I am a Child of God), Sister Hayes played the piano, and Isaac said the opening prayer. Bonkie bore her testimony, then we went to the Relief Society room for the baptism.
Dad and I went through the bathroom with you, and Dad went into the font first.  You told me before you stepped in the font that you felt the spirit and happy tears when Bonkie bore her testimony.  You entered the font and Dad baptized you and I got very teary.  It was a very sweet moment and I had a front row view! I wrapped you in a towel and gave you a big hug when you came out.  Then Daddy came out and we had a big group hug.  The font was freezing after a long morning of baptisms!  I left you and Daddy to get changed.  Sister Hayes played piano music, while everyone filled out cards for you saying one thing they want you to remember about today, and at your request, your favorite scripture.  :)  You now have a special catalog of notes from many loved ones.  When you got changed, Bishop Walker confirmed you a member of the church with Dad, Brother Harris, Uncle Kelly, and Uncle Cort in the circle.  You shook everyone's hands and gave Dad a hug.  Then we closed with Isabel singing I will Be What I Believe.  It made me cry, and many others.  Even Charlie and Lucas were crying.  It brought a really sweet spirit.  Isabel sang beautifully, and right before she sang, she found out that she was actually missing her play practice.  Aunt Jen told her that it was probably good that she didn't know, because this is where the Lord wanted her to be, so when she sang, she was really singing you her testimony.  Aunt Jen said the closing prayer.

Bonkie bought you a new suit for your baptism, and Dad and I bought you your own scripture set, with your name engraved on it, and a scripture case that you picked out, complete with compass. :)
For your gifts Isaac bought you 2 survival bracelets (like Liam's), the girls got you $tree presents, Nana and Papa got you a card with a bunch of money and candy, Bonkie got you a magic kit, and Mom and Dad bought you a hoverboard, and soccer ball.  For dinner we had your request of bacon, mashed potatoes, and brown sugar carrots. And for dessert I made you a double topping peach cobbler. :)

This year because Mom and Dad bought you a BIG present we didn't do a party.  Instead we had a small play date with Brogan, Isaac, and Charlie.  They both brought presents for you to school, and I picked you guys up and we headed to the bowling alley.  We ate nachos, drank root beer, played arcade games, and bowled a fun game.  Charlie came in first, you and Isaac tied for second, and Brogan third.  :)

You started 2nd grade this year and are flourishing.  You love your teacher Mrs. Marone, and all the science projects you get to do in her class.  You have a million friends (as always) and are still loving sports.  Right now we're finishing up soccer for the season, just in time to start basketball.  You're amazing at Soccer, by far the best on the team, and have major hustle out there!  I've been proud to see you learning about being a team player, by passing, and displaying sportsmanship when others get hurt.  I enjoy having fun conversations with you, discussing everything from sports, and cooking, to much sillier, stinkier subjects.  You love to cook with Mom and you still look forward to the day we can work out together.  We love to compete.  Seeing who's stronger and faster.  You're already faster than me, but I'm still stronger than you. :)  You have a such a sweet and tender spirit.  You're still the best big brother to all your siblings.  At school you and Zekey get to see each other on Wednesdays at lunch, and you always make sure to say hi and play with him for a minute.  You wrote a story for all your siblings in your free time at school and I can't wait to read it!  You're a math whiz, and complete your math homework in under 5 minutes.  Your favorite books are the Dogman series, and Bonkie says I need to get you the Diary of a whimpy kid books because you'll love them!  You love your Bonkie, and often ask her to tuck you in, and draw on your back at night. :)  We just barely found out you and Remi have Celiac's disease, so that's a big change for you!  You're taking it like a champ though, and you and I are learning how to make British Bake Off worthy breads! This year we've been working on our self talk, reminding ourselves when we look in the mirror that we look great!  We've also been talking about shame vs. guilt and not using shame talk.  I always want you to remember that you're a good boy!

Boss you will never know (until you have an amazing kid of your own) just how much Dad and I love you.  Our love for you is endless and boundless.  No matter WHAT we will always love you, bigger than the Universe!  I'm proud of you every day.  I love who you are.  I can't wait to watch who you become.

Love,
Mama

PS Your career choice for the last couple years is to be a dentist.  :)  Pretty cute.

Happy 6th Birthday Isaac Dane

Dear Isaac,

2017/2018 has been a big year for you.  Right after your 5th birthday you started PRE-K at home with Mom!  We had 3 other boys join us, Lucas, Zac, and Henry.  Zac became your new best friend!  Mom turned her craft room into the preschool room, just for you! We had lots of fun learning, 3 days a week in that room all together. At Christmas you received your favorite stuffed animal, Penthea the Panda.  She's a Furreal Friend that you LOVED.  You still love her, but you have many stuffed animals to spread your love out to, so sometimes she takes a back seat.

We tried Soccer in the Fall for you, but you didn't love it.  We're proud of you for sticking in there with it, and when you did try, you were great!  We also tried Hip hop this year, but decided we need another year or so, before you will enjoy structured sports and classes. :)

We had a REALLY big summer of travel.  I took all of you kids to see Great Grandma Chapman in Utah.  We stayed at her house and had a great time drinking chocolate milk every morning, playing with cousins, and spending time with Great Grandma and Bonkie.  A couple weeks later we left on an even bigger trip to NEW YORK CITY!  It was a fun and crazy trip with our whole family.  You got to ride on an airplane for the first time since you were a baby.  The Flight Attendants let you and Boston speak over the intercom.  You said,
"My name is Isaac, I'm 5 years old, this is my first time on a plane, and I'm going to a Yankees game".
We had the best time with Aunt Kaz's and Uncle Erik's families.  We stayed in Connecticut most the time and you had the best time running around with Dean and Macee in the party barn!  We did an overnight trip to Boston, where we walked the Freedom trail, stayed in a fun hotel, and went to LEGO Land.  With all of our cousins we spent a couple days in New York City.  We climbed the statue of Liberty, went to the 911 memorial, played baseball in Central park and climbed boulders.  We went to Bryant park, and our favorite was going to the MOMA.  We got see Van Gogh's Starry Night and Monet's Water Lillies!  It was awesome.  After Connecticut, our little family spent 3 days in NYC by ourselves.  We stayed in a fancy hotel on the Upper West side, and played in Central Park, met a Dog named Moose that we all fell in love with.  We dodged a rain storm, by stepping into a cookie shop and ordering delicious cookies until the rain stopped.  We Also got to explore the MET where we saw Mummies and Van Gogh's Self portrait, and the Museum of Natural History, where we saw a HUGE whale, and big Dinosaurs.  We played for a while on the museum lawn, and we also found a fun city park to play at.  We all agreed we can't wait to go back!

It wasn't long after we got home that you had your birthday!  For your party you invited a ton of friends to Garland's gymnastics where you got to do the birthday bungee.  You pretended to be Iron man on the bungee and we all laughed.  This year you've become a great friend and really care about making more friends. You still love art and drawing, as well as Legos, snap circuits, and stuffed animals.  And you're still the funniest kid around.  You are constantly cracking us up. We love all the snuggles we get from you as well.
I even tried to convince you this year that we should do snuggle school instead of Kindergarten.  I told you we could start with diaper class, then baby toys class, then Snuggle school, and then we would end with shrinking class (which would be the longest class of the day).  You did NOT like that idea.  :)

Just last week you started Kindergarten!  You have Mrs. Fort and Mrs. Wueneeke.  Mom loves these teachers so I've been really excited for you.  They think you are so smart and a leader!  I was happy and a little nervous for your first day of Kinder.  I knew I would feel happy if your day went well.  Right when I dropped you on the playground you gathered up a big group of boys that you know and got a game of tag going.  Everyone wanted to play with you and it was fun to see you be such a leader.  I was so happy to see you making lots of friends right away.  You even invited a little boy that had no one to play with, to come play with all of you.  Mrs. Fort said you did awesome on your first day, and felt so happy!  We missed having you at home though, and I gave you LOTS and LOTS of snuggles as soon as you got home.

This year, is my year of Isaac.  Because it's the year you start all day Kindergarten, you have an extra tender spot in my heart.  I miss you and your sweet, creative energy here at home.  Every day Daddy and I are so grateful that Heavenly Father gave us the sweetest, funniest, brightest, funniest, Zekeyboo!

Happy Birthday sweet boy!  This year you're going to do great things!

Love,
Mama.

Happy 3rd Birthday Rowan Adele

Dear Rowy Bowie,

Happy birthday Darling!  Your Mama just loves you so much.  I can't believe you're 3!  You and sissy have grown up way too fast.  I've loved watching you change and grow over the years.  You started out my little easy going, tender girl, always mothering over Remi.  But for at least the last year you've developed a STRONG sense of independence, and have no time to Mother over anyone. :)  If anything, you enjoy playing the roll of baby, and are more than willing to let Remi, mother over you.  You're a brave little thing and always ready to make a new friend, or dive head first into new situations.  Your favorite shows are Sofia the First and Frozen.  You have declared yourself as Amber and Anna.  On Halloween you made the most darling Anna.  Remi, Isaac, Boss, Stella, Pippa, and Abby are your best friends.
Your brothers love you fiercely, and when you're sad you often ask for Boston to hold and comfort you.
Your favorite comfort items are your blankie, and thumb.  Sometimes you like to add in your pink bear.  :)

Daddy and I love chatting with you, and we just laugh over your very expressive way of explaining things.  Lots of head tilts, hand gestures, and voice inflections.   You love a good snuggle, and when I take the time to slow down, you eat up getting to feel like a baby again with Mommy carrying and kissing you.  I love watching the sweet, kind sister you are, and I love seeing you be such a good friend.  You have the same husky laugh you've had since you were a baby. :)

The other day I wiped your bum and you said, "That was so kind".  :)  When Daddy wiped your bum you told him, "You're welcome". haha.  Always so polite.  You have a healthy dose of drama in you, but in the best way.  You love to get dramatic and excited about what you're playing.  You know all of your zoo phonics and their sounds, you count to at least 10 and you love when I read Heidi to you girls at night.  Daddy has to work a little harder to get Rowy loves, but when he can get them from you he eats them up.  Mommy gets Rowy loves any time she wants. :)  You give me tight squeezes around my neck, lots of Beijos, and you always tell me I'm beautiful.

We love you so much and are LOVING watching you grow!

Love,
Mama

Happy 3rd Birthday Remington Jane

Dear little Remi,

Happy Birthday baby girl! I think it's official.  You're a big girl now.  I still call you my baby, but it sounds a little sillier every day.  You're such a joy in our lives.  You still love to snuggle up Mom while sucking your thumb, and playing with my hair.  I love that you've had this habit since you were a tiny baby.  Rowan is still your bestest friend, unless of course you and her have declared that you're not friends and then pull each other's hair.  Every day you get more independent.  You and sissy have started to play in other rooms of the house (not just the room I'm in) and the two of you make up all kinds of games.  You play house, and sliding down the stairs, and jumping on the couches, and babies, and Christmas morning, and all kinds of pretend play.
Your favorite comfort items are still your blankie, thumb, and my hair.
Your favorite friends are Rowy, the boys, Stella, Pippa, and Abby.
Your favorite babysitters are Squish and Dita, but you also love Savannah and Carly.
You still have the loudest voice when your mad, but the tiniest voice when speaking.
Your favorite shows are Sofia the First and Frozen, with the occassional Boss baby and little Baby Bums.

You're always Sofia and Elsa, and we all have to ask your permission when singing, Let it Go.
Isaac is one of your favorite playmates and he makes up all kinds of games for you and Rowan to join in.  His favorite to play with you girls is, "Family".  He loves you girls fiercely and is a great brother.  Boston still loves his "babies" and you girls can't wait to see him when he gets out of school each day.

You always have us laughing.  The other day you and the kids were playing hide n seek, and no one could find Rowan. You immediately went into mourning and said, "I loved her.  She was my best friend.  She laughed like this, "hehe".  We all DIED laughing.  Now it's a running family joke that you and Rowan both love. :)

You're definitely a bit of a Daddy's girl and he gobbles up his Remi snuggles.  He loves when he can get some morning snuggles from you.  For the last few weeks we've gotten rid of night time diapers and you don't wet your bed! I'm so proud...and relieved to be done with diapers!  You are a full participant in preschool and you know all of your zoo phonics and their sounds.  You can count to at least 10 and you know how to use scissors and hold a pen correctly.  I love watching you play and having conversations with you and your ever expanding vocabulary.  When you're feeling extra happy you usually tell Mommy how beautiful she is.... or Rowy.  You can't help it.  When you're full of joy you just want to compliment!  I love this about you.

I love your jumping, running, wild, sweet, sensitive, and tender spirit.

WE LOVE YOU BIG REMINGTON JANE.

Love,
Mama
